Mittekill - name as slogan. Kill Mitte, if you please, but leave the good stuff. Stuff like Mittekill. "Harter Rok", first released in 2007 on Kitty-Yo, is an ode to the blues felt in the big city. Underneath some pretty exciting beats, a laconic flow is always present in the music of the
Berlin based duo. Freedarich and Neurot met in Berlin in 2003 via an ad in
"Zitty" magazine: "Have hits - looking for master!" Said hits are pure slacker anthems. Modul8 Music is the new safe haven for Mittekill, and following the immense success of "Diamanten", Elektro Willi und Sohn's smasher from last year, all eyes will be on Mittekill this year for a follow
up, a new gospel for the worldwide Elektro Youth. At one point on their second album "You Are Home" they enter the playground ("Spielplatz"), dressed to the nines in sunglasses, net shirts and busted laptops. "Auf in
den Krieg" is another one of many broken poems, a Christmas carol for early summer.
Here, the guys strip bare in the name of art and deliver another "number one on the heavenly charts". The album as sublimation of various current pop tropes: rok, synth pop, minimal techno - you name it, they've got it in abundance. And as with all the good things in life, the journey
itself is the reward. Off to a brilliant future with Mittekill. So far, so excellent.
