After his solo EP “Channel by Channel“, Markus Homm now hits us again with more new material. This release serves as a pre taster, with another EP to follow in Autumn. For all those already addicted to the music of Markus Homm, the wait is over! Born in Romania, and coming to us via Nuremberg, Moscow and finally Hong Kong, Markus is a producer who understands the connection between perfectly delivered understatement and massive dance floor feeling. As a DJ, producer and globetrotter, Markus had seen and heard a lot.
All the tracks on this release come back from the journey sounding amazing. ‘Foog’ and ’Bricks’ pay homage and respect to the house music of the 90’s, while being right up to date with the present. You can hear the influence of Chicago, paired with the broad musical view of the world traveller. ‘Foog’ kicks off with crackling high hats and wide bass, while ‘Bricks’ spins us into
the warm sounds of a medusa like voice. Nothing is these tracks is intrusive, and the whole effect is more than the sum of its parts. With ‘Wipes’ the pace is a littler more demanding, but always retains the necessary level of respect. Markus Homm’s music fits in every record case, without ever being arbitrary or overbearing. This is music for generations.
