After an eccelent album "Service Station" and string of very successfull 12" releases that silently or maybe we should say silent alarmingly brough highgrade to the forefront of berlin´s today school of Music Institutions Tom Clark sums up whats been coming up. Tracks von Todd Bodine, Magnetic Base, Format B oder dem Neuankömmling Jens Bond verpflichten hier in ihrer lockeren Luftigkeit zu nichts, nerven nicht mit Credebility heuchelnden Zitaten, sind aber eben dann zwingend, wenn man sich auf sie einlässt. Federnde Grinse-Elektronik. Wenn sich dazu Tigerskin oder SCSI 9 die Ehre geben, Matthias Tanzmann den Remix beisteuert, ist klar, dass die Coolness nie zu kurz kommt. Claps und Snares schneiden, Bassdrums bewegen sich zwischen teilnahmslosem Taktgeben und peitschender Grundierung, sowieso: Der Wille zur bewegenden Percussion ist offensichtlich. Was dann drum herum groovt und funkt, romantisiert und manchmal auch ganz ganz vorsichtig jazzt ? Acid-Bleeps, Cowbell-Clonks, lautmalerische Signale ? es trifft auf Tänzer-Sympathien. Diese zweite Nabelschau, natürlich gemixt von Label-Betreiber Tom Clark, vereinigt all die Tugenden, auf die sich auch 2007 viele einigen können.
