Finally we are happy to present you the first „real“ Dirt Crew Album. After 3 years of releasing numerous dancefloor burners and marvellous remixes for labels like MOOD MUSIC, MY BEST FRIEND, FREERANGE and SOMA the Dirt Crew boys found some time this spring to hit the studio and concentrate on their present vision of House music. This full album includes a wide range of music that the Crew represented over the years in their DJ and Live performances all around the globe. A definition of electronic music that makes them so special and which got the people hooked to their sound. Big hits like the „Soul Sounds remix“ they did for SASSE or the raw old school sound of „Rok Da House“ influenced a lot of new artists to emerge from germany over the past 2 years. Now Dirt Crew takes it deeper with their new Album „RAW“ that still uses the main ingredients for an old school floorfiller (Tracks: Coming for you, Boogie Down) but concentrates more on the darker and soulfull vibes of house (Tracks: Big Bad City, How does it feel, Manoeuvres), not forgetting the more minimal sides of dancemusic (Track: Get Raw). This collection of tracks gives you a good overview of whats happening in the scene nowadays, prooving that house music is on it’s way back and that the Crew is developing a deeper answer to electro house. As a bonus we included a second CD with some of their coolest remixes they did over the past years. From the early dry bangers like M.A.N.D.Y.’s Naomi track and the HOEL JAMES remix for BOXER to the more recent fine architectured reworks for JIMPSTER, METRIKA and WHO MADE WHO.

Groove (Nov/Dez. Ausgabe 2007)

IDJ Magazine (Oct 2007)

DJs, record label honchos (the cunnigly-titled Dirt Crew Recordings) and occasionally producers, too. James Flavour and Break 3000 have found time to put together their fisrt "proper" artist album following last year's singles collection "The first chapter". And what a fine damn album of this thing we call house it is. For a duo with such a hectic schedule "Raw" sounds relaxed, effortless even: it's just nine tracks of chunky, groovy tech-house that's comfortably familiar without sounding stale. Opener "Coming for you" and "Big Bad City" show highlight the album's Chicago house flavour, perhaps the biggest strand running through the record. This culminates with the dubby Sly "Deep We Are", which almost sounds like a Sly and Robbie-produced Grace Jones track. Fans of the darker side of Dirt Crew should check "Places", a subtle track with plenty of understated menace, as well as a second bonus disc of some of their greatest remixes. An accomplished debut. 4 stars out of 5. Jason Riley

M8 magazine (Oct. 2007)

The debut artist album from some of the most imaginative remixers out there, will have loads of people scrutinising and dissecting from a distance, and I`m so glad it's turned out to be as good as this. Key remixes from their back catalogue have beeen cherry-picked on a bonus disc and their spin on artists like Linus Loves, M.A.N.D.Y., Jimpster, 2020 Soundsystem and Marc Romboy are just fantastic; deep, groovy and inventive every time and, like their own productions, riding that dancefloor/at-home-listening wave perfectly. Sounds strange to say it, but I think what's making Dirt Crew stand out from the pack here is their love of house music, pure and simple (rather than obsessing over electro the way everyone else is) and where they can take the genre....and they tend to go deep. Every track is a slow-burner, working through phases and moods in a way that might remind you of early Deep Dish material (through here's more of an underground European feel to their stuff than that), and though it's moody, dark and spacey as you like, there's a dancefloor kick to it that won't let you sit and zone out. These are floor (and head) fillers for the discerning clubber - and that's you, right? M7/M8

XLR8R magazine (2007-10-25)

After three years of triumphant singles and outstanding remixes for labels like Mood Music and Freerange, Dirt Crew has finally served up Raw, its first official long-player. As could be expected, DC's hypnotic-house duo is still as deep and infectious as ever. "Big Bad City" is just a taste of what's to come from this German powerhouse.

365MAG.COM ( 01-11-2007 )

"I am completely blown away of what Dirt Crew presents on this package. As I mentioned after listening to the first CD, it felt like I had been visiting a club night of these guys. Two and a half hours have passed since I began writing this piece, but it felt like a whole night. By this, I am trying to convince you of the impact this package has. CD 1 is filled with extremely beautiful and deep tracks, covered in a thick layer of intensity, while CD 2 comes with a perfect mix of mindblowing and easy-going remixes. As a whole, this package will be delivering goosebumps to every single person who's into house music. With the cold winter and the end of 2007 ahead of us, this one will keep you warm, and it will do more. This is among the best of all music that has passed the 365Mag's office this year, and I can no other than to strongly recommend this to all house music fanatics." rating: 9.0 out of 10.0
