I?ve never been a huge fan of the Highgrade label, but this release marks a change in direction and, as their recent excursion on Klang proved, Phage & Daniel Dreier are pretty much at the forefront of glitchy, trippy minimal techno. On ?Rien Ne Vas Plus? and ?Diploma?, they combine off the wall clicky percussion and tripped out FX with jacking, driving grooves, while the title track is harder and perhaps less subtle, but that doesn?t matter: its tough beats and wildly morphing acid line will cause mayhem wherever it?s dropped.

Sehr feine und elegante Minimaltracks kommen von den umtriebigen Phage und Dreier die sich auf "Rien Ne Vas Plus" gerne in verknatterten Beats suhlen um darin nach spleenigen Effekten und Sounds zu suchen, aber bei aller Hecktik nicht vergessen dass ein Track auch geerdet sein muss, was die eigenwillig gespenstisch über allem lauernde Zweifinger-Bassline übernimmt. Ähnlich verdreht funktioniert "Diploma" mit dem sie einen fast schon an die Posse rings um Pheek erinnern. Der Titeltrack ist dann auch noch mal solides Minimalpingpong und ich würde behaupten, dass hier ist definitiv ihre verspielteste und gleichzeitig konsequenteste Platte bislang.
