Exercise One?s track Easy Things is surprisingly melodic, impressing by its hypnotic bass line it takes the listener away into a bittersweet world where we can follow the Easy Way Of Life and forget about time.Easy Things was remixed by Duplex 100 a.k.a. Phil Stumpf and Reynold who exactly hit the pulse of time and deliver the new definition of minimalism we?ve all been waiting for, delighting us to the point we cheer. With Steady Pulse Exercise One take us back to reality and give a conclusion of their musical understanding of straight techno.

DJ MAG October 2005

Some people are saying that "minimal is the new prog" and to a certain extent they´ve got a point. After all, you can only take so much repetitive, linear faceless music before you start getting bored, and it´s a point that´s not lost on upcoming German act Exercise One. ´Steady pulse´ adheres to a stripped-down aesthetic, but it also borrows from jacking Chicago funk and is bolstered by a rolling bassline. On a different tip entirely is the dreamy ´Easy Things´, held together by a sexy acid line and Duplex 100´s mix of the same, which gets rid of the chords and focuses on the Roland sounds.
