Too many cooks spoil the broth? Not at all. In case of the slackly formed gentlemen Chris Gruber, Holger Brauns, Kid Kazaam and Nils Nürnberg two tracks appear which bring the wide spectrum of straight, hypnotic and deep house surprisingly clear to the point. The four Hamburg-living dipped into club culture in early life. Each of them could make a name for himself being a DJ and producer. But the doors of the studio have been opened widely in order to work together in different constellations on new tracks. That’s the way how EPs appeared up to now at labels like Force Sence, Was Not Was and Liebe*Detail. Lorna now continues this list with the “Amistad EP”.
On side A the Gentlemen Brauns, Gruber and Kazaam are together. The collective piece is called “Aire Fresco” – a minimalist impulsive House track, which unambiguously goes ahead with a pumping beat and concentrates more and more in the lapse. “Our Feeling” on the other hand provides a thrilling update of Deep House in a classical almost forgotten way. Pending chords, punctual interspersed vocals and a straightforward beat. Chris Gruber and Nils Nürnberg have raised a worthy monument for their common love for deep club music.
