times do not take in count”.
This is the leitmotiv that defines best the
work and state of mind of Monoblok & Pussyselektor, an upcoming explosive
duo composed of two activists of the electronic scene from the north of France.
Yann Aubertot aka Monoblok is a born
experimentalist and a master in the science of obscure audio plugins with a
solid classical music background. Founder and curator of Rodoid netlabel,
organiser of Paysages Électroniques festival, Monoblok has been playing around
with electronic textures for the most part of his life and today he produces
hybrid minimal techno with an experimental edge.
Benoit Mascot aka Pussyselektor has been
setting dancefloors on fire at many clubs and festivals in France and in Europe
alongside the main international djs & live acts. Party promoter/Resident
DJ at the famous underground Kiosk Club in Lille and resident DJ at N.A.M.E.
Festival, he is also part of Signaletik Records as promotion manager for this
new French techno label already supported by some of the greatest electronic
artists.
Since they decided to join forces, Monoblok
& Pussyselektor have been busy producing and defining their own personal
style by synthesizing their respective ideas and influences and putting them in
synergy. Their first shot, Straighthead EP, released by French label Notorious
Elektro was a brilliant minimal-tech two tracker that has already proved highly
effective on the dancefloor and earned support from Terence Fixmer, Marc
Antona, Electric Indigo, Savas Pascalidis, Compuphonic, Brodinski, Hervé AK,
David Keno, to name a few.
