Pawas, born and brought up in India, has been a DJ for 10 years and producing for the last 2.Son to a classical Indian musician, he was encouraged to play the “tabla” (indian drums) and he accompanied his father to play at concerts. Hence he started to play various other instruments, like percussion, bass guitar and keyboards, which he taught himself to play.
He soon discovered a strong pull towards electronic music, at the time a reluctant scene in India. Instead of following in his father’s footsteps he chose to pursue a career in electronic music and began to DJ at the age of 17. His move to Europe in 2004 transformed his urge of being an electronic musician and took him to another level. Being surrounded by musical friends, he than got inspired to make music.
He released records with support from friends like Daso andAdam Kroll.
“KATANG”, “a massive techno monster” as one of the famous German electronic magazines called it, he released his fist record in May ’07.as a split EP Martin Beume’s “CHE CHE “on Adam Kroll’s, “SQUONK RECORDS”. Soon to be followed by the infamous “CRAWL AROUND”, a collaboration with his best mate Daso, which was released on the very first compilation of “ConnaisseurRecordings” and was has voted as, one of best tracks in the compilation. Following the success of their collaboration, Daso & Pawas produced their very first record “NIGHT EXPRESS” which was released on Flash records, with an Imprint of Oliver Koletzki & Florian Meindl. The Record got big support from DJs like: Nick Warren, Pete Gooding, Hernan Cattaneo, Satoshie Tomiie, Paul Woolford, Marc Romboy, Audiofly...etc.
Not looking back, his own single project “PLAYTEX EP” was then released on a new UK Label “Fear of Flying” in July 2007, where he shows his more deep and housy side.
His DJ’ing style is spontaneous, groovy and consists of deep/ tech grounding sounds.
