Biography

Jay Haze is the name behind number of projects that fight a guerilla war against mediocrity on a daily basis. Born inPennsylvania, Haze has been living in Berlin since the early 00s, in which time he has released music on Playhouse, Kitty-Yo, Cocoon, Get Physical, and plenty more. But of course Haze is responsible for running several label himself: TuningSpork, Contexterrior, Junion, FutureDub, and Textone. Haze's production career began in the yea 1999 on the house-oriented TuningSpork, and in the following year he launched FutureDub as a home fordowntempo electronic dub. In 2002 Haze started the techno-oriented Contexterrior, and in 2003 he had the novel idea of founding Textone, an online electronic music magazine and internet label project, yielded thousands of download long before any other labels caught on to the idea. By 2004 Haze recorded a collaborative EP with his buddy Ricard Villalobos, and continued his labels with releases from names who are now household in the world of house an techno (e.g. Robag Whruhme, Samim & Michal). The following year saw Haze's stock rising even more rapidly with his first full-length album on Kitty-Yo, Love for Strange World . Haze launched yet another label in 2006, Junion, and enjoyed some crossover success when hereleased the massively acclaimed Children of Love album as Fuckpony on Get Physical Music. Known for his skill not just as a producer, Jay Haze has DJed in all of the German clubs, throughout Europe, and Japan, has a residenc at London's Fabric and Italy’s Tenax . His tracks are a constant feature in the DJ sets and mix CDs of Richie Hawtin Sven Vath, Ivan Smagghe, Miss Kittin, and countless others. For 2007 Haze has exciting plans to release on th UK’s Soul Jazz Records under his dub project Sub Version, and is also planning another solo album that will revea his love for hip-hop and soul. Meanwhile, his empire of labels continues to suck in new fans like a vacuum cleaner. Th Jay Haze story continues with pace, but it is a timeless and simple one, the tale of a man who makes, releases, an plays the world's most psychedelic dance music.
