Edwin James first came to prominence in the public conscience supporting artists such as Abe Duque, The Hacker, James Holden, Legowelt and Chymera at the Electric Picnic Festival. His high energy live sets enhanced his growing reputation but it was his first independent release ‘High Rise’(2005) on his own SeedyR label that firmly established his name on the up and coming Irish producers list and earned him a 4/5 in DJ Magazine.
2006 saw him release his acclaimed debut album ‘We are Electronix’ (Invisible Agent Records/seedyR). Combining shimmering techno with old school electro against a backdrop of ambient soundscapes, ‘We are Electronix’ has been described as ‘coming at you like Kraftwork jamming with Eno and Daft Punk’ (I DJ Magazine). Exquisite production is to the core of his art, and deep, melodic, clinical sounds pervade this record. His reputation has soared since and among his admirers are Laurent Garnier, Oliver Huntemann, Chelonis R. Jones, SLOK (Get Physical), Abe Duque (Gigalo), Dave Terrida(Tresor), David K (Cocoon), Mark O'Sullivan (DK7), Ben Watt (Buzzin Fly) and FishgoDeep. 2007 has seen him remix David Duriez and he has also released on HartHouse, FishGoDeep’s Ork Recordings, Night Vision Records and Invisible Agent. He has also produced 2 of the tracks from Chelonis R Jones 2nd album 'Chatterton' due out in early 2008. He is working on his highly anticipated new album ‘IAMCORRUGATED’. Other releases this year include ‘Beautifully Lost’ feat Chelonis R Jones (Dance Electric), ‘2nd Thoughts’ (Urban Torque UK), ‘Distant Soundz/My Machine Code’ (Night Vision Records US) and ‘TB Rox’ with remixes from Dave Tarrida (Tresor).
