Some sane schizophrenic tendencies are never wrong – that’s what they say, anyway: if one manages to star in metal and punk bands without being sentenced by tough colleagues for having spent excessive weekends in techno clubs...then this can truly be called a success. If one thereupon manages to follow suit your heros of the night with German pop songs from mum’s collection instead with vinyls from the local electronic store...then it seems like tolerance towards different styles actually pays back. This was in 1994. Techno itself wasn’t grown up back then. GUNNE arranged those parties together with LIMO, still his dj-brother in crime. Nowadays both of them rather turn to electronic tunes when practicing at the decks. In those cases it doesn’t matter if said sounds are electronic-technoid beats, porno-styled breaks or minimal tunes...as long as the stuff rocks and brings fun!For quite some time now GUNNE has also been busy promoting the electro-rockers “Northern Lite” from his hometown Erfurt on their label “1ST Decade”.This is what makes him feel comfortable ‘cause this combines all elements from his early musical education: a job like a party with a mix of rock and techno sounds as background music.Rock and Techno are only part of his ever growing musical output as a producer. Pop, House, Minimalism and something in between or developed from this are also strongly featured. One really gets to notice this influence on his contributions for 4Y1ST, a tribute compilation to the 4th anniversary of “1ST Decade”. His preferences also come clear on his first own publications on “Lebensfreude Rec.”, “Audiomorph” and “Opossum Recordings”.However, he still can’t help partying: every Wednesday GUNNE and LIMO organize “spinning wax”, doubtless the most successfull freeparty all over Thuringia, at Centrum Club in Erfurt. Those who dare to visit rancid underground clubs far off the techno scene might also see him playing the bass for the “Erfurt Allstars”, a punk cover project rendering homages to the Ramones, the Misfits, Spermbirds, Motörhead and last but not least the Dead Kennedys.
