Repeat Orchestra is the project of prolific Düsseldorf-based producer Stefan Schwander.Stefan has been producing electronic music since 1997 and began the Repeat Orchestra project in 1999 with the 'A Deeper Ground' 12" on A Touch of Class, the House sub-label of Background Records. The Repeat Orchestra sound builds on a classic Larry Heard/Chicago-style house template, with piano, strings and swirling organs to the fore, but with a very European flavour - deep, minimal, experimental and full of production detail.
Stefan's other solo aliases include Rhythm Maker (minimal techno for Background Records), A Rocket in Dub (on Italic) and Antonelli Electr. (deep, minimal, electronic house, also mainly on Italic).
Aside from his solo projects, Stefan has also been involved in a number of groups and collaborations; Pop Up (with Jšrg Burger aka The Modernist), The Bad Examples (on the Ata Tak label) and Swimmingpool (an ongoing collaboration with Michael Scheibenreiter of Phoneheads on Combination Records).
