San Francisco innovator Dave Aju has been developing his unique take
on electronic dance music for nearly a decade. In his DJ/live
performances, and production for labels such as Circus Company and
Context, Aju combines his love for the functional rhythms of house and
techno with outside influences ranging from latin, free jazz, and
p-funk, to dub, post-punk, and musique concréte. The result is a
consistently fresh and distinctive sound that varies from raw and
driving to deep and soulful, and is favored by an increasing number of
listeners, dancers, and DJs around the world.
