In his teenage years Franklin De Costa played the drums in different bands ranging from metal to bigband sound. Meanwhile he made his first steps towards producing on his amiga computer and in his fathers home studio. In 1994 his interest in instrumental and electronic music like the early Art Of Noise, Mike Oldfield and Trackermusic introduced him to techno and DJing.In 1995 he met Patrick Vauillaume from legendary 303 Nation which let to a jamsession and resulted in founding Fusion Records in colaboration with the sound engineer Stelios Sevdalis. After they released 4 records Franklin De Costa quit the label and started to release music under the pseudonym Tichy. He produced techno records on Frankfurt based labels like Propaganda, Triebtäter and Fieber. Meanwhile he put his DJ ambitions to halt to concentrate on his production skills.In 1998 Franklin De Costa stopped producing dance music while his interest for ambient and experimental electronics grew up and he started the ambient project Archaetech.In 2001 he returned to the 4-to-the-floor and released dubby and melodic minimal techno on Episode and Choke Music. During the next years Franklin De Costa concentrated moreon his DJing skills in Frankfurt and cooperated with a few party crews.In 2004 he started togehther with Uwe Giegler aka Yapacc the project "Studiogemeinschaft" which let to "Infected", a release on the Cologne based label Trapez ltd.At about the same time Franklin De Costa founded with Yapacc, Miriam Schulte and Bo Irion "The Green Empire" as a platform for their events in Frankfurt.In 2005 Franklin De Costa released "The Call" and "Reaktanz EP" on Trapez ltd and last but not least the debut 12" vinyl on the Karmarouges new imprint "Karmarouge Noir".
