Since its beginnings in 2007, Upon You has more than just kept its finger on the pulse: It’s been a pillar of Berlin, one reason why the international club scene follows the city’s heartbeat. Managed by Hawks Grunert and A&Red by DJ/producer Marco Resmann (also half of Luna City Express), the label is nearing one hundred releases, always defining fresh sounds with an innovative and open-minded approach to all styles of techno and house. Aside from its output (with eye-catching designs by the distinguished Frank Gräfe), the Upon You crew also holds residencies at Berlin’s top club destinations Panorama Bar and Watergate, featuring dynamic DJ and live sets from the roster’s mainstay talent including Ruede Hagelstein, Marcus Meinhardt, ONNO, Gunnar Stiller, The Cheapers, Mathias Mesteno, Re-UP, Emerson Todd and of course Resmann himself. A familial powerhouse, Upon You also comprises its own booking agency as well as a clothing line. Aside from a reactivated digital series of releases, 2012 will see some special surprises in celebration of the label’s fifth anniversary.
