On remix duties Berlin based Miro Pajic sneaks in charting a decidedly bleepier course while Bruno Pronsato delivers his signature "romantic techno" sound. There's no way back and Marc launches the fist bars of "Undercover" with just a bouncy kick and a vintage "house" bassline. With reverb in full effect the drums and hi-hats find their own space and time. Then, if the synths that roll in aren't mysterious enough for you, the pillow talk vocals will be. The end of each line, spoken with a certain sense of agitation, is covered by chords that ride, all night long. The revelation is for your imagination but you might not want to be "Under Covers" with this guy. But no need for superstition: this single is indeed a definite lucky pull. Port is pressing every button here, he’s hinting at his percussion-fetish, he’s cutting the vocals like a top chef, he’s amplifying the snare when it is supposed to give the audience this little extra kick and he’s coming up with an unexpected surf-lick, to spice things up with some extra coolness. In “Someone to Love”, soulfulness and peaktime-suitability are melted that consistently, that the addressed search for love will be an easy one within the next months. Having built a reputation within the Paris scene for his skills behind the decks, it was his early solo productions for Time Has Changed and Robotronic that caught the ear of a certain Mr Steve Bug. Releases on Dessous followed and this year Andrade also made a impressive debut on Poker Flat Recordings. Making a second appearance on Safari Numerique, having recently remixed Nick Daring’s “Dark Light,” it’s time for Andrade to take centre stage himself with the “Be My Queen” ep. The three original cuts are lead by the homage to his home City, “Paris.” Its bass-heavy groove is met with a busy vocal sample and refined piano chords, evoking a picture of a bustling Parisian street. “Be My Queen” is the soundtrack to a loft party. Classic snares, mysterious synth chords and crowd noise. Fantastic. Keeping it oldschool and rolling with the basslines and keys, Andrade wraps up the originals with “Warning.” An excellent collection of originals warrants a remix to match and Safari welcome a young producer who currently setting a blistering musical trail of his own, Nico Lahs. Typically for Miro, it melds with a heavy leading bass synth which reminds of Carpenter style late 70's sci-fi horror movies.
