With an endless profile of releases, Demarkus Lewis surely needs no introduction. 'No Longer The Same' is multi-layered solid club track from Demarkus Lewis and it features an infectious spoken vocal  making the track very outstanding. On the remix side Bologna based Musumeci takes a different approach and the result is a jazzy bline and guitar on top of a raw and crunchy drum loop. Bittersuite (Brighton), who seem to be constantly featured on this label, deliver another slice of quality deep house music.  'Orbit' is a smooth track with gradual pad changes & atmospheric vibe that make it sound rather hypnotic and perfect for those late night sessions. Hailing from Malta, however currently residing in UK, Woody Aki's track 'Gently Out of Sight' is a Detroit reminiscent with raw 909 drums spiced up with droning pads and high pitched leads. A very unique sounding track that totally reminds us of the early Detroit releases. Overall, this is once again a solid Ep from Batti Batti. Four tracks of varied styles within the deep house genre, yet all tracks are meant for club abuse! http://www.whatpeopleplay.com/albumdetails/null/id/29343 whatpeopleplay.com, people@whatpeopleplay.com http://www.whatpeopleplay.com/albumdetails/null/id/29343 Mon, 06 Sep 2010 00:00:00 +0200 office gossip - Imperfect Variations - Dark Energy Recordings (DE016) n/a http://www.whatpeopleplay.com/albumdetails/null/id/29377 whatpeopleplay.com, people@whatpeopleplay.com http://www.whatpeopleplay.com/albumdetails/null/id/29377 Mon, 06 Sep 2010 00:00:00 +0200 VVV - Vertigo And Flames / Slacktide - Tube10 Recordings (TUBE10 009) Texan future garage/dubstep produer VVV backs his excellent Fortified debut with 2 agile swingers for Tube10. 'Vertigo & Flames' is driven by razor slashed 2-step syncopations and lushed out with deeply atmospheric synth pads and Kraftwerkian melody, all the while riding plush cushioned sub pressure. 'Slacktide' is a dubbier affair, sending towering dub chords bouncing over a Latin-tucked garage pattern with nods to the intricacies of El-B or Steve Gurley. http://www.whatpeopleplay.com/albumdetails/null/id/29355 whatpeopleplay.com, people@whatpeopleplay.com http://www.whatpeopleplay.com/albumdetails/null/id/29355 Mon, 06 Sep 2010 00:00:00 +0200 Commodo - Querky / Rec room - Untitled! (UNTITLED 003) Commodo returns to Untitled! after his track âGreen Pieceâ was featured on the very first release. Already supported by top djâs such as Youngsta, Benny Page, Cyrus, Distance, Joe Nice, Tunnidge and Mary Anne Hobbs amongst others, his rise in the dubstep scene will continue in 2010. Querky An intricate drum pattern that continues to progress throughout the track (featuring some of the craziest cowbell patterns out there) lay the foundation. But the main attraction lies within the dirty bass workout and the subtle applied atmospherics that keep a tension and more importantly an interest for the listener. This tune builds on the legacy of some of those timeless â96 drum and bass classics. The Rec Room This excellent piece of 140 BPM jazz is a stand out track from the very first notes you will get to hear. Double bass interplays with the most delicate drum programming. From waterdrops to fingersnaps to piano chords, this piece of music has it all by the bucketload. http://www.whatpeopleplay.com/albumdetails/null/id/29354 whatpeopleplay.com, people@whatpeopleplay.com http://www.whatpeopleplay.com/albumdetails/null/id/29354 Mon, 06 Sep 2010 00:00:00 +0200 Noah D - My Vitamin Pillbox Nikes / The Love - Rwina Records (RWINA 008) n/a http://www.whatpeopleplay.com/albumdetails/null/id/29353 whatpeopleplay.com, people@whatpeopleplay.com http://www.whatpeopleplay.com/albumdetails/null/id/29353 Mon, 06 Sep 2010 00:00:00 +0200 Duetzound - Abangelu Cocktail - Southern Comfort (SC 021) n/a http://www.whatpeopleplay.com/albumdetails/null/id/29352 whatpeopleplay.com, people@whatpeopleplay.com http://www.whatpeopleplay.com/albumdetails/null/id/29352 Mon, 06 Sep 2010 00:00:00 +0200 The Neon Judgement - Smack EP - DanceDelic D (DDDD12) Thirty years ago, they were young, loud and angry.Today, they're young at heart, loud and furious. With a heart racing at rhythm machine speed through the black and white game of dark tunnels and sunlit summer days, the Neon Judgment's rebel engine can not, will not, shall not stop.Splendid new mastering, guest remixes & collaberations on this TNJ SMACK album. What will come next? And it was at that very moment when suddenly a new record appeared on the market to satisfy this longing for new, fresh sounds: Sascha Diveâs âThe Basic Collective Pt. 1″. In the meantime, almost 4 years and innumerable releases later, a new genre of house music has developed from and around the concept of this young, highly inspired Frankfurt-based artist. This sound is characterized by dark, driving rhythms with clear references to the U.S. American house music of the 1990s. The German Groove magazine called it âRhein-Main-House"- a very accurate term to describe this movement. But Sascha Diveâs success story goes far beyond and overseas: He is the only âwhite producerâ who was given the honour of getting a remix version made by no other than the grandmaster of house music: Moodymann himself.Sascha Dive has been successful both as a producer, and as a DJ. When you talk with him about club music, and in particular house music, you almost get the impression of talking to a human encyclopaedia. His expert knowledge combined with his definition of contemporary club tunes makes his sets a unique experience. He takes the audience on a trip towards the future and the past, and at the end of the night gently back into the here and now again. A couple of years ago, in spite of his busy schedule and the time he would spend in his studio, Sascha Dive decided to found his own label âDeep Vibes Recordings", and to do his own research in the aesthetics of contemporary house sounds. He released tracks of co-fellows such as Johnny D, Christian Burkhardt, Ray Okpara and Robert Dietz, as well as of his own most-favourites such as Rick Wade, Scott Furgeson, Borthers Vibe, DJ Qu, Sean Dimitrie & Tim Fuller, and Norm Talley. http://www.whatpeopleplay.com/albumdetails/null/id/28103 whatpeopleplay.com, people@whatpeopleplay.com http://www.whatpeopleplay.com/albumdetails/null/id/28103 Mon, 06 Sep 2010 00:00:00 +0200 NTRLD - Satan Has A Glock - Single - Play Me Records (PLAY020) n/a http://www.whatpeopleplay.com/albumdetails/null/id/28607 whatpeopleplay.com, people@whatpeopleplay.com http://www.whatpeopleplay.com/albumdetails/null/id/28607 Mon, 06 Sep 2010 00:00:00 +0200 Pariah - Safehouses EP - R&S Records (RS1005) Safehouses sees Pariah move further towards developing his own sound, and takes in slamming percussive club tracks, deeper 2 step excursions and downtempo and beatless highlights. http://www.whatpeopleplay.com/albumdetails/null/id/28813 whatpeopleplay.com, people@whatpeopleplay.com http://www.whatpeopleplay.com/albumdetails/null/id/28813 Mon, 06 Sep 2010 00:00:00 +0200 Hex Pistols - Disco Computer - Love OD Communications (EARTH002) When the Hex Pistols released their debut single 'No Celebrities' back in 2003, the anonymous duo caused speculations surrounding their identities to escalate wildly. At first they got accused of being a side project of the (at the time) rising stars Röyksopp, then they were linked to Robbie Williams' early attempts of re-constructiing (or rather de-constructing) his carreer into what culminated in the highly questionable 'artistic peak' of his 'Rudebox' album. Finally, in an email sent to the Love OD offices, the Pistols were accused of being a false front for a reptilian alien agenda initiated by a child-eating Richard Branson (!) Now, seven years later, as the Pistols drop their second outing 'Disco Computer', they're not even bothering to deny any of the above, nor come up with an alternative explanation. And to be honest, we don't really care. All we know is that Hex are back, and that they are the shit! This release is part of the 'virtual soundtrack' compilation for the transmedia novel 'Earthbound - Surfing the Apocalypse by Tied Revolverman. The compilation is due for release in October 2010, so look out! http://www.whatpeopleplay.com/albumdetails/null/id/29648 whatpeopleplay.com, people@whatpeopleplay.com http://www.whatpeopleplay.com/albumdetails/null/id/29648 Mon, 06 Sep 2010 00:00:00 +0200 Late Of The Pier - Remix EP - Phantasy Sound (PH07RMX) n/a http://www.whatpeopleplay.com/albumdetails/null/id/28798 whatpeopleplay.com, people@whatpeopleplay.com http://www.whatpeopleplay.com/albumdetails/null/id/28798 Mon, 06 Sep 2010 00:00:00 +0200 Kraymon - Big Ravey Bastard / Gamma - en:vision (ENVISION035) Kraymon in new territory here. "Locus Pocus" is what you can call a hard edged hypnotic techno track: loopy, bleepy, trippy and squiddly diddly. "Sugar Hill Mountain" is what you can call a deep, warm and moody ambiant song: shiny, airy, velvety and mushy gushy. Check it yourselves. Itâs really worth the listening as it was worth the waiting. http://www.whatpeopleplay.com/albumdetails/null/id/28978 whatpeopleplay.com, people@whatpeopleplay.com http://www.whatpeopleplay.com/albumdetails/null/id/28978 Mon, 06 Sep 2010 00:00:00 +0200 Red Faction - Infected - Sanex Music (SM051) n/a http://www.whatpeopleplay.com/albumdetails/null/id/29088 whatpeopleplay.com, people@whatpeopleplay.com http://www.whatpeopleplay.com/albumdetails/null/id/29088 Mon, 06 Sep 2010 00:00:00 +0200 Hain Dutt - In and Out - Clock (C0003) After the great success of Deepah, with full support of artists such as Laurent Garnier, Ellen Alien, Karotte or Brothers'Vibe, now the turn is of Clock's other face. Hain Dutt, co-founder of the label and resident in one of the best clubs in town, comes on with its third release."In and Out" follows the elegant and strong deep house mood ofthe barcelonian record label. The first track appears with the clubbier version of the EP, with smooth and ritmic melody. The second track is pure deepness thanks to the strong bass and the sweet vocals. Moreover, the EP counts with the collaboration of artists with great talent. In one side we have Dactilar. Living in Barcelona, he is now one of the Regular artists and a reference in the nacional scene. In the other side, we have Sebbo & Agent, one of the Desolat artists and the owner of Soulbox Records. It's no the first time the german duo works together, allways having impresive results, the sound is strong and groovy. http://www.whatpeopleplay.com/albumdetails/null/id/29151 whatpeopleplay.com, people@whatpeopleplay.com http://www.whatpeopleplay.com/albumdetails/null/id/29151 Mon, 06 Sep 2010 00:00:00 +0200 Maurice Aymard - Put Some For Jules Ep - Galaktika Records (GLK030) Finally Label Owner Maurice Aymard releases his debut ep on his own Label. After Releasing last year on Einmusik label and Sasse's Mood Music Imprint , Moe how his friends call him has decided to show his art through Galaktika. The ep has two strong remixes the first one comes from the Brazilian's head quarters and old friend from the house called Gui Boratto. Gui is a top five world techno producer, after remixing names like Moby, Massive Attack and Robbie Williams he finds times in his super busy schedule and delivers a MASSIVE TUNE. He changes the hole track, he stamps his sound on the remix and add and incredible rhodes to close up the track, and epic remix that will last for ever. Garnica does completely the opposite as Gui, he turns ¨Put some for Jules¨ in a techno tune for pick time hours, with groove and percussions as main course. Garnica has find his formula to make great remixes and keep your head up cause will be more to come. http://www.whatpeopleplay.com/albumdetails/null/id/29167 whatpeopleplay.com, people@whatpeopleplay.com http://www.whatpeopleplay.com/albumdetails/null/id/29167 Mon, 06 Sep 2010 00:00:00 +0200 Blue Belly Bandit - Chi Town Jivin Part.1 - Oomph (OOMPH020) n/a http://www.whatpeopleplay.com/albumdetails/null/id/29188 whatpeopleplay.com, people@whatpeopleplay.com http://www.whatpeopleplay.com/albumdetails/null/id/29188 Mon, 06 Sep 2010 00:00:00 +0200 Andri - Never End EP - Highgrade Records (Highgrade081d) A drum roll announces the arrival of Swiss artist and producer Andri to the Highgrade family. And the drums are something we can take literally, as the regular player on the Zurich party scene experimented for seven years with his own drums. Later the drum sticks were traded in for the âMusic 2000â program on Playstation, before Andri finally discoverd the mixing desk. The common thread among this musical history is a love for beats and rhythm, something that strongly influences his sets today. He was quickly recognised for the energy of his Live sets, creating a name both in Switzerland and outside its boarders. As a producer, he has impressed colleagues and experts alike with his musical output, especially with his EP âThe Changeâ. In his latest work and debut release with Highgrade, âNever Endâ - Andri mixes samples, beats and sexy voices into a coherent platform for an endless groove. Creating a vivid and imaginative window into the cinematic mind of the dancefloor, the tracks âNever Endâ, âRumpelstelzâ, âDr. Driveâand âPimpin Bellâ all feature pulsing funk laden basslines, bionic rhythms and various samples that evoke a light hearted feeling of passion and enjoyment. The fun that Andri has at the controls is clearly evident and obviously endless... As the name suggests, âNever Endâ is the best proof. http://www.whatpeopleplay.com/albumdetails/null/id/29189 whatpeopleplay.com, people@whatpeopleplay.com http://www.whatpeopleplay.com/albumdetails/null/id/29189 Mon, 06 Sep 2010 00:00:00 +0200 Dekay - Farewell to planet Earth - Dirt Crew Recordings (DIRT044) After his first collaboration with Elie Eidelman here on Dirt Crew Dekay is ready for his first full release, together with his partner Nunu he produced 3 great tracks of deep and soulful house music with a techy edge. To top things off we added two fine remixes of Dirt Crewʼs favourite producers Mano Le Tough who drops another beauty to follow his latest EP and New Yorkʼs finest Nick Chacona who just released a great album on Mood Music. http://www.whatpeopleplay.com/albumdetails/null/id/29292 whatpeopleplay.com, people@whatpeopleplay.com http://www.whatpeopleplay.com/albumdetails/null/id/29292 Mon, 06 Sep 2010 00:00:00 +0200 Syntonics - Work Dat Body - Intellegenix (INT066) Syntonics return once again with another rework of an older track that never saw the light of day entiled "Work Dat Body". Tying up loose ends of older unfinished work, Syntonics come through this time on a Ghetto House tip equipped with driving 4/4 bass drums, housey synth stabs along side the signature vocal trade offs and edits. Starting off with a half time beat the track quickly moves full force into a aggressive Ghetto House stomper with elements of Ghettotech overtones thoughout. Also featured on the album is a Vocal Dub Mix and Instrumental Version of the original. Remixes on the album include works by Terror Tone, MindTransit, Sonic 86, Drumatix Six and Blue Neptune who all add their own individual style. http://www.whatpeopleplay.com/albumdetails/null/id/29295 whatpeopleplay.com, people@whatpeopleplay.com http://www.whatpeopleplay.com/albumdetails/null/id/29295 Mon, 06 Sep 2010 00:00:00 +0200 Wender A & Rods Novaes - Tribute To Night Life EP - D-Edge Records (DEDGE10) n/a http://www.whatpeopleplay.com/albumdetails/null/id/29310 whatpeopleplay.com, people@whatpeopleplay.com http://www.whatpeopleplay.com/albumdetails/null/id/29310 Mon, 06 Sep 2010 00:00:00 +0200 Superpitcher - Kilimanjaro - Kompakt (KOMPAKTCD80) In his near decade history with recording and performing for Kompakt, Cologne's Aksel Schaufler aka Superpitcher has become synonymous with the sound of the label - the emotional sway and character he creates maintains unrivaled amongst today's ocean of comparisons. From James Holden to Foals he has been cited as an influence - his remixes are cherished and have almost legendary status. Take his breakthrough remix of M83 âDon't Save Us From Flamesâ which Pitchfork proclaimed as âeveryone with ears should drop 99 cents at iTunes for the remixâ and it goes without mention the impact his remixes for DNTEL, Quarks and most recently Charlotte Gainsbourg have had. As one half of SuperMayer (together with Kompakt co-conspirator Michael Mayer) they stormed the 2007 major festival circuit supporting their acclaimed full length âSave The Worldâ and went on to remix a flurry of talent including Foals, Rufus Wainwright and Broken Social Scene. Though it's been six years since his debut full length âHere Comes Loveâ (KOMPAKT CD 32), it's clear that Superpitcher has remained fully in the picture not only as a producer but thanks to a diet of consistent, rigorous DJing. Now he returns with âKilimanjaroâ - a full length that emanates his rich knowledge in music and as a producer. âKilimanjaroâ is a story that only few electronic musicians still share. From the moment that Cologne church bells ease us into Schaufler's bewitching twist on dub with âVoodooâ, he sets the tone for themes that echoes throughout; enchantment, pain and magic. The first single âRabbits In A Hurryâ has caused a rapturous chime of support from the club elite and proves to be more than that within âKilimanjaroâ - unfounded disco dements itself with the sounds of the absurd in Superpitcher's sexiest signature flow. Diehard fans will rejoice with âFriday Nightâ which is a return to the classic Kompakt sound that Schaufler helped build and when he teams up with Comeme starlet Rebolledo it's a cosmic, hallucinogenic trip. Koelsch Tequila in your glass, the Seventies, disco, sex and the finest of drugs. However which way you look at it, Superpitcher has set up an accomplished sophomore release that maintains his roots in dance music while managing to have a complete disregard for genre and adding the involvement of acoustic instrumentation and vocals - a tough integration that works over and over again with âKilimanjaroâ. http://www.whatpeopleplay.com/albumdetails/null/id/29314 whatpeopleplay.com, people@whatpeopleplay.com http://www.whatpeopleplay.com/albumdetails/null/id/29314 Mon, 06 Sep 2010 00:00:00 +0200 Echologist - Just A Ride - steadfast (STEADFAST008) After the success of âslow burnâ as well as the licensing of âdirtâ to Mr. Ben Klock's Berghain mix compilation, echologist returns with another slice of psychedelic dub techno with remixes by France's techno king Terence Fixmer and arguably Moscow's finest producer, Anton Zap. The original mix is a slowly builds into a blaze of cavernous chord changes and a 4/4 groove powered by an unelenting sub bass. The distinctive sound of this track is what seperates echologist from all the other dub techno composers out there. Terence Fixmer takes the elements and transforms them into his signature techno workout that packs as much punch as it does finesse while Anton Zap strips things down and builds a super spacious hypnotic house groove that has become a trademark of his ethereal sound. All round another essential release from echologist. http://www.whatpeopleplay.com/albumdetails/null/id/29316 whatpeopleplay.com, people@whatpeopleplay.com http://www.whatpeopleplay.com/albumdetails/null/id/29316 Mon, 06 Sep 2010 00:00:00 +0200 Arandel - In D#5 - InFiné (IF3003) ARANDEL`s debut LP is a musical scavenger hunt in which there are still some hidden trail to discover. This Fall, you will get the opportunity to wander off the beaten track of âIn Dâ with the releases of missing pieces taken from and inspired by the musical universe of Arandel. First chapter of a digital EP trilogy, which will be concluded by one vinyl edition to be released early November â âIn D#5â â a track, which is possessed by mystical vocal canticles and gradually driven by a dark and dubby bass toward an organic minimal of a new kind. Sound-designer of the original track [the disquieting insect noises in the background] and credited for all the artworks of the project, nicolas colas re-interprets the track âin a Shellâ of ringing bells and elegant vocals. Fraction was already noticed by a first EP on InFiné in 2008 and hits the steep road of an almost cabalistic and spellbinding experimental. Emerging new face of the electronic scene from Belgium, Michael Forzza mechanizes the original and turns it into a incredible dancefloor weapon. Beatless version of the original, Arandel`s Solfeggio highlights the vocal arrangements and soundscape of nicolas colas.
