After his debut âArtificial Respirationâ on the well-known label Resopal Schallware, heâs going to present with his new release âBeskid Niskiâ the deepness and intensity of electronic music. In times of boring Loop-House or heartless Techno-Music he decided to produce three outstanding and functional tracks in its own style. Kacper Garbacz aka Gathaspar creates with his sound-concepts like low speed or big scapes a very special moment in his tracks, which will absorb the listeners from the first moment. Analyzing and compare the tracks âBeskid Niskiâ, âCologneâ and âA Fair Maidenâ the complete release seems to be a homogenous work of the producer, full of wonderful moments and ideas. http://www.whatpeopleplay.com/albumdetails/null/id/29619 whatpeopleplay.com, people@whatpeopleplay.com http://www.whatpeopleplay.com/albumdetails/null/id/29619 Thu, 09 Sep 2010 00:00:00 +0200 Markus Suckut - Monad VI - Stroboscopic Artefacts (SAM006) Stroboscopic Artefacts presents the Monad series. Rarefied and introspective, confrontational and extreme, each featured artist will delve into the Monad concept: âThe generation of number series is related to objects of geometry as well as cosmogony. From the Monad evolved the Dyad; from it numbers; from numbers, points; then lines, two-dimensional entities, three-dimensional entities, bodies, culminating in the four elements earth, water, fire and air, from which the rest of our world is built up.â Markus Suckut's Monad VI is filled with iridescence. This is techno with sub aqueous sensibilities. The bass lines wander into dub territory and deep, nautical techno emerges. With track titles including âCosmosâ and âWormholeâ it's clear that this EP has ambition. Using a palette that shimmers with a dark brilliance Markus Suckut questions the limits of what the Monad could possibly mean, and in doing so he seamlessly fuses the ecstatic with the esoteric. http://www.whatpeopleplay.com/albumdetails/null/id/29641 whatpeopleplay.com, people@whatpeopleplay.com http://www.whatpeopleplay.com/albumdetails/null/id/29641 Thu, 09 Sep 2010 00:00:00 +0200 Mustax - Flicker - Crunchy Music (CRUNCHY025) Cesar Werlon, also known as Mustax, is a cool representative of Crunchy Music - a mix of techno, electro and tech-house, lots of acid and analog tones and an awesome old school glimpses not to lose the true essence of electronic music on dancefloors. After his latest EP "Off Season", which highlighted his intro side, Mustax now releases an 100% dancefloor EP which certainly will make a big huge difference whenever it http://www.whatpeopleplay.com/albumdetails/null/id/29753 whatpeopleplay.com, people@whatpeopleplay.com http://www.whatpeopleplay.com/albumdetails/null/id/29753 Thu, 09 Sep 2010 00:00:00 +0200 Lee Foss - U GOT ME EP - HOT CREATIONS (HOTC003) After two amazing releases from Jamie James and Robert James, fellow label owner Lee Foss serves up the third hot platter. Lee is one half of Hot Natured along with Jamie Jones and has previous releases on Wolf + Lamb and Culprit. This latest release under his moniker is pure psychedelic summer disco fun! âU Got Meâ is a great four track E.P. featuring quintessential tracks tried and tested and firm favorites at the recent Hot Natured parties at DEMF, Sonar and Ibiza. First up is the title track âU Got Meâ, a slick slice of infectious 80âs inspired disco. âRun Aroundâ is a super hot, bad ass groove with the hookiest R&B vocal this side of the Atlantic, superb! On the flip Lee takes us deeper with âHappen For A Reasonâ, an exquisitely cut up vocal flirts with the intoxicating analogue synth lines. The final cut is âChic Sheikâ a darker more eerie number, perfect for those lost headier moments, whilst still maintaining the omnipresent future funk sound! http://www.whatpeopleplay.com/albumdetails/null/id/29827 whatpeopleplay.com, people@whatpeopleplay.com http://www.whatpeopleplay.com/albumdetails/null/id/29827 Thu, 09 Sep 2010 00:00:00 +0200 Revilo-D - Flight Night EP - Mad Hatter Recordings (MH043) n/a http://www.whatpeopleplay.com/albumdetails/null/id/29858 whatpeopleplay.com, people@whatpeopleplay.com http://www.whatpeopleplay.com/albumdetails/null/id/29858 Thu, 09 Sep 2010 00:00:00 +0200 Tenthchapter - Boom Boom - Cablestone Recordings (CS0011) n/a http://www.whatpeopleplay.com/albumdetails/null/id/29859 whatpeopleplay.com, people@whatpeopleplay.com http://www.whatpeopleplay.com/albumdetails/null/id/29859 Thu, 09 Sep 2010 00:00:00 +0200 Jacob Seville - Open Your Mind - Gastspiel (GSPDIGI062) incl. remixes by Sozonov, Plastic Sound & Kevin O'Keeffee http://www.whatpeopleplay.com/albumdetails/null/id/29869 whatpeopleplay.com, people@whatpeopleplay.com http://www.whatpeopleplay.com/albumdetails/null/id/29869 Thu, 09 Sep 2010 00:00:00 +0200 Oddvar - Dawn EP - Polished Audio (PAD008) Polished Audio strongly believes that we don't have to wait to be in heaven â thanks to Oddvar's sugary House. On âWake Meâ it's just pure pleasure to hear the chords chime, the pads swell and the sweet vocals pour. The Mikdat remix stays true to the original's understanding of House and turns out to be a super relaxed groover in a classic manner â a gentle giant. On âLet Kingdom Comeâ we hear it once more, the kingdom of House â with wonderful chord sequences and stylishly polished beat structure. It's a heavenly round House affair which Oddvar serves us here, for warm and soft summer euphoria. supported by: Chloe, Luciano, Dapayk, Dubfire, Jens Bond, M.A.N.D.Y., Martin Eyerer, Axel Bartsch, Dave DK, Paulo Olarte, P.Toile, Markus Homm, Magazine - DE:BUG, Jesse Rose, The Cheapers, Simon Beeston, Sebastian Wilck, Dirty Doering, DJ LaFleur http://www.whatpeopleplay.com/albumdetails/null/id/29871 whatpeopleplay.com, people@whatpeopleplay.com http://www.whatpeopleplay.com/albumdetails/null/id/29871 Thu, 09 Sep 2010 00:00:00 +0200 Various Artists - Doppelgänger pres. And oh boy, it DELIVERS!!! Super Super is a duo from Stuttgart / Germany who conquered the scene by storm with their totally different style of Rave business over here! Their Dj-sets literally nailed acts like Feadz, Tiefschwarz or Data to the walls and now theyâre in it to prove that also their production-skills can compete with every big name out there...Their unique mixture of Electro-House and Minimal Tech-House combined with influences from NuRave, Hip-Hop, Disco or Dutch-House is a perfect blend to set any club on fire and simply âgood on the dancefloorâ! Watch these guys blow up big time within the next year! Mark my words... The title track âGood on the dancefloorâ is yet another collaboration with aUtOdiDakT and a perfect symbiosis of their reduced to the max minimal kind of rave-approach with his more bangerism kind of style! It sounds like A-Trak would finally put out bangers again! Their 3 original tracks show an already well progressed and distinct sound of their own, no matter if they include squeeky dutch-house synths (like in Nobody Move), a slower disco-kind of pace (like in Unleaded) or tribal african elements (like in Malanga)...you always hear that itâs Super Super and all tracks are...errr...Super! http://www.whatpeopleplay.com/albumdetails/null/id/30072 whatpeopleplay.com, people@whatpeopleplay.com http://www.whatpeopleplay.com/albumdetails/null/id/30072 Thu, 09 Sep 2010 00:00:00 +0200 Orbatak - Grimey EP - Betamorph Recordings (BMR025) n/a http://www.whatpeopleplay.com/albumdetails/null/id/29362 whatpeopleplay.com, people@whatpeopleplay.com http://www.whatpeopleplay.com/albumdetails/null/id/29362 Wed, 08 Sep 2010 00:00:00 +0200 Trentemøller - ... Even Though You're With Another Girl - In My Room (IMR03D) ââ¦.Even Though Youâre With Another Girlâ is the amazing single to be taken from Trentemøllerâs stunning new album 'Into The Great Wide Yonder'. After the huge reaction to the beautiful longplayer, which mixes classic Trentemøller production mastery with more of an analogue, song based, indie-feel, itâs time to carry on with this intriguing set of remixes. Side by side comes a hot record that features remixes by Kollektiv Turmstrasse and Pantha Du Prince. The Kollektiveâ s half of the record slaps a heavy dose of deep, dark funk into the mix, with this ingenious lo-slung version. Postminimal- punk electronic drums meet warbling synths and reduced, subliminal use of the vocals in a delicate and stylish mixture of pop-meets-deepest-electronica. Dialâs man of the hour Pantha Du Prince creates a typically high-end remix based on his trademark twinkling melodies and warmly grooving understated beats. The Dub version twists and turns with unpredictable laid-back intensity as a rousing chorus of strings and harmonic elements fuse under dubbed out vocal elements. http://www.whatpeopleplay.com/albumdetails/null/id/26466 whatpeopleplay.com, people@whatpeopleplay.com http://www.whatpeopleplay.com/albumdetails/null/id/26466 Wed, 08 Sep 2010 00:00:00 +0200 Mr. Mau - The Manchurian Candidate - Orbis Records (ASG_OR004) n/a http://www.whatpeopleplay.com/albumdetails/null/id/28934 whatpeopleplay.com, people@whatpeopleplay.com http://www.whatpeopleplay.com/albumdetails/null/id/28934 Wed, 08 Sep 2010 00:00:00 +0200 Fasten Your Seatbelt! - Down One - Young Society Records (ysr012) Fasten Your Seatbelt! are Tommy Yamaha (Strike Boys, Wrongkong) and DJ Frezh (Tripodz, Have A Break). 'Coma Cat' is drenched in thick, honey-like loveliness with a big synthy bassline, old-school piano stabs and an almost overwhelmingly joyful hook. âComa Catâ has had massive support from all the specialists at BBC Radio One, from Annie Mac to Kissy Sell Out, this is truly the anthem of 2010. Now itâs time for the remixes accompanying Tensnakeâs original. Delivering a mix for the straight-up, no-nonsense house crowd, Round Table Knights take some of the stand-out elements of the original, work in some white noise and drop in a biiiig breakdown for a hard-hitting slice of house action. For a completely different old skool house vibe Treasure Fingers adds an early 90âs French house twist to proceedings. http://www.whatpeopleplay.com/albumdetails/null/id/29532 whatpeopleplay.com, people@whatpeopleplay.com http://www.whatpeopleplay.com/albumdetails/null/id/29532 Wed, 08 Sep 2010 00:00:00 +0200 Andre Torquato Project - Niente - Yoruba Records (YSD35D) After releasing his debut EP âManfredâ back in 2008 Nomumbahâs Andre Torquato finally returns to Yoruba and boy it was worth the wait. This Brazilian just oozes class and he translates that musically. âNienteâ, translated as nothing, could not be further from the truth; this release has everything beautifully and blissfully crafted. If you close your eyes you truly visit a sonic paradise. Mixes from Osunlade himself and Boghosian solidify the package and continue the quality that this boutique label has become. I wanted songs with structure.â And yet, despite the artistâs protests to the contrary, his debut album, Lucky Shiner, is full of bangersâof a kind. âLots of factors affected the way it came together,â he explains, âtouring, mixing, moving houses and splitting with a girlfriend. Family, friends, and lovers, places Iâve never been.â Itâs that mix of directness and emotion that characterizes Lucky Shiner, an album of beat-driven electronic music thatâs easy to fall in love with, and to. In Gold Pandaâs world, vinyl-static beats and heart-on-sleeve melancholia collide, and the results are breathtaking. Lucky Shiner was mixed by Simian Mobile Discoâs James Shaw and recorded in two sessions at a shady retreat in the English countrysideâGold Pandaâs aunt and uncleâs Essex home. As GP explains, âThey went away over Christmas for two weeks and asked me to look after their dog. Iâd walk Daisy in the morning and then make tunes till she pestered me to take her out again. Iâd bounce down what Iâd done, stick my headphones on and walk her, get ideas, and repeat the process.â Decamping to an idyllic retreat means the album bears trademarks of a pastorally hued Englishness; GPâs two years spent studying Japanese culture, language, and history at the School of Oriental and Asian studies in Japan also find their way into the music. Opener and lead single âYouâ slinks along with a stuttering vocal sample and teary-eyed chord changes in tow; âSnow & Taxisâ sounds like prime dancefloor fodder, but its cloudy string samples and chiming bells situate its melancholy closer to M83 than anything else; and the deconstructed hip-hop of âAfter We Talkedâ employs a minimal, lo-fi drum machine and an array of ever-so-gently bitcrushed synths. And the titleâs origins? âLucky Shiner is my grandmotherâs name. Sometimes I think she knows exactly how I feel without me even mentioning anything to her.â And while Lucky Shiner is clearly a deeply personal album for Gold Panda, the producer insists upon inviting the listener into his emotional world. âIt would be nice if people could hear the tracks and attach their own significance to them,â he says. With that, we welcome to you Gold Pandaâs Lucky Shiner. http://www.whatpeopleplay.com/albumdetails/null/id/30046 whatpeopleplay.com, people@whatpeopleplay.com http://www.whatpeopleplay.com/albumdetails/null/id/30046 Wed, 08 Sep 2010 00:00:00 +0200 Oliver Koletzki & Fran - Lovestoned - Stil Vor Talent (SVT050) Lovestoned! Finally here it comes: the eagerly anticipated follow-up album of DJ und producer Oliver Koletzki, set for release in September this year. After the success of âGroÃstadtmärchenâ Oliver Koletzki has teamed up with singer Fran, voice of the über-successful single âHypnotizedâ, to record an 11-track electronic pop album. Fran and Oliver are not merely partners in crime when it comes to music â they are also lovestoned, glued together by their mutual love for music and their love for each other. A fact that is omnipresent on their new album: eleven songs about getting to know each other, eleven songs about spending time together, eleven songs about the first kiss, eleven songs about the wonder that is love! Muscially, âLovestonedâ is a journey through Franâs and Oliverâs different influences: from sample- based house to synthie-pop, from late 70ies glam to late 90ies ambient in the style of Bonobo and on top this album also includes some nuggets of Jazz. The impeccable songwriting, the feeling for the right dose of pop anthems, Franâs pure voice in English and German elevate Franâs and Oliverâs music to a new height. But letâs start dipping into it: Things get going straight away with the summery 70ies-inspired glam-pop track âLovestonedâ, a smooth funk-riden piece with shimmery guitars and funky slap bass guitars. This intro track brings the message of the album to the point: freshly in love, honey- dipped, sugar-like and skyscraper-high. That unique feeling of being freshly in love! The journey into happiness continues with the first single release âArrow and Bowâ that reminisces 80ies pop sounds: synthesizers that cause goose bumps, clap snares that will move heads and toes and of course, Franâs beautiful voice that reminds us about the wonderful game of getting to know each other. But love can also about sensitive feelings, something that becomes clear on âEchoesâ, one of the strongest tracks of the album. This is where Koletzkiâs background as a producer of house and techno meet with Franâs ability to create divine lyrics and perform them with her unmistakable voice. With itâs groovy loop and some softly floating pianos and synthesisers the track reminds of pop tracks by the likes of Mia. or Morcheeba. â<3â â in our world of Facebook & co. this has become the universal sign for love. The track behind this symbol is a Balearic pop song about the love of one person for another that is not yet mutual. A longing feeling for response underlines the atmosphere of this wonderfully hypnotic track. On âStrandbar Berlinâ and âI Mightâ Oliver and Fran present us their musical finesse and diversity. Oliverâs piano melodies and the jazzy live appeal of the songs set another level for their music while both songs are totally different in their feel and sound: âI Mightâ is a melancholic song about the love blues while âStrandbar Berlinâ is as happy as happy goes. Of course, Oliver Koletzki has also recorded one purely instrumental for this album: âHollywood Boulevardâ is a funky piece of thumping percussion house music. This is Oliver Koletzki for the floor: samples mix with synthesisers and result in a very musical piece of house music. âKissenschlachtâ is the ultimate holiday song that was created when Oliver and Fran went on their first holiday together: sunshine, freedom and happiness. But it wouldnât be an Oliver Koletzki album, if there werenât more class A pop hits on âLovestonedâ: âFingertipsâ, âSmileâ, âItâs a Pleasure to Meet Youâ â three very catchy pop songs that are yet very different in their musical style. While âFingertipsâ is an electrified housy pop song, âSmileâ is a pastiche on DJ culture set in a kitschy late 70ies disco scenery, where the girls admire the DJ and everybody has a smile on their face. Then, âItâs a pleasure to Meet Youâ starts where the party ends and the next party begins. This funky piece of synth-pop tells the story of the insecurities of the first meet. Where itâs going to end? Nobody knows for sure. Oliver Koletzkiâs and Franâs âLovestonedâ is a very complete artist album that speaks both in the language of pop and the language of love. It is filled with catchy pop hits reflecting the fresh love of the protagonists behind it. While being a very personal album, it is also not, because everybody knows about the universal power of love. And if there is such a thing as the perfect match, be it in love or in music, then Oliver and Fran are a prime example of this. http://www.whatpeopleplay.com/albumdetails/null/id/30074 whatpeopleplay.com, people@whatpeopleplay.com http://www.whatpeopleplay.com/albumdetails/null/id/30074 Wed, 08 Sep 2010 00:00:00 +0200 Cosmin TRG & Falty DL - Remixes - RushHour (RHDC3) After the individual releases Falty DL and Cosmin TRG on the RH-DC series, the third release features them remixing each other.
