Alison Marks is back on Rebirth with the ‘Descendance EP’, one year after the debut ‘L.V.E EP’. Originally based in Manchester, DJ, producer and vocalist since the early 90s, Alison gained early recognition playing for the likes of Paper Recordings and local pirate radio.  Winning Muzik magazine's DJ competition in the mid 90s led to a move to London, international gigs and residencies at Plastic People, Turnmills and Propaganda Moscow as well as a regular show on Groovetech radio. Parallel to her DJing Alison has been building her studio since 1998, and monikers include Wallflower with Leah Floyeurs, Kiska, Halcyon with Helen Copnall, under her own name or as Alison Mars.  She has released on and has forthcoming releases on Dessous, Crosstown Rebels, Bu-Mako, House Cafe Music and Dogmatik. Alison's music has been influenced by tunes that she loved greatly since the very early years of her explorations into electronic music, and the new ‘Descendance EP’ explores these connections looking to the past and future for inspiration to create a unique present ‘Descendance’ is a house groove of the deeper kind. It's rising pads and melancholy yet uplifting lead, jubilant yet solemn, carrying the listener into the afterhours. Built for dancefloors worldwide. ‘Dream At Will’ bares witness to times gone by, service stations, forests, arguably bad outfits that seem to have come back into fashion and believing you really were taking part in something new and revolutionary. It has also been 'favoured' by Juan Atkins on Soundcloud, bonus. ‘Honeybee’, which has been supported by Move D, evokes the feel of lazy days by the seaside; wind blowing, boats creaking, engorged bees lolling drunkenly around, oyster catchers defending their nests and nothing to do but take it all in. A touch of romance in this often dreary world.
