Andreas Saag is one of Scandinavia's top producers in the club jazz scene. He has been releasing music on Freerange since the very early days under his Stateless and Swell Session guises so it’s nice to welcome him back to the fold once again. He has been keeping a relatively low profile release wise the last couple of years with the exception of his acclaimed track Jazz Lapse on Room With A View as well as his Rose Rouge remix released on GAMM. He has continued his work with fellow Gothenburger Samuel L. Session on his techno releases too. We’re very pleased to say he’s really hitting his stride right now and what we have here is an EP of what Andreas himself considers his most club focused work yet. People Say is not exactly your typical Freerange track having a heavier techno sound to it but the vocal grabbed us instantly as did the Carl Craig-style fizzing saw tooth arpeggios and deep Detroit pads. Jimpster brings it back into more housey territory on his remix of People Say which makes good use of the vocal and synth arps resulting in a deep and driving club friendly mix. Next we have the Pol_On remix which goes for a more deep and soulful house sound complete with driving cowbells, pizzicato strings and beautiful Rhodes. A real end of night track this one. Another original track entitled Dragons is up next and takes things into deep stripped back heads down deep house. Long time Andreas collaborator Ernesto delivers an unexpected but welcome vocal in the breakdown which ensures this one will stand out in the club. Finally, Adaptation is a brilliantly funked up instrumental loaded with warm Moog stabs, solid bass and a groove to move to.
