Leeds based Audiojack stormed on to the scene with their chart busting single ‘Robot’, back in 2006. Since then the duo have stayed true to the Leeds House institution that is 20/20 Vision, releasing multiple 12”’s and an album over the last 3 years. One can only imagine how giddy we are to finally slot these nice young chaps for a release on Get Digital. Anchored by a smattering of effects, quirky sounds and sliced up vocals - that even a sushi chef would bow in approval of – made it almost easy to crown ‘Kicks For Kicks’ the A-side. Although storming right from the get-go, it is the two break-downs that build up to reintroduce the beats that provide a dramatic tension effect, without sacrificing their credibility. A tune equally affective as it is infectious. Who’s House? ‘This House’! And don’t you forget it! This is not your flavor of the month tool House either, as the boys conjure up thick beats more reminiscent of bone crushing Techno. However, they can’t deny the urge to call up Rhodes keys, a sax and a bass line that flows down smoother than the first after work beer. Given by how competitive the two first tracks are, it might be hard to imagine the possibility that could go pound for pound with the first two. ‘In The Hills’ isn’t by any means the runt of the family and keeps its two siblings on their heels. Sticking its nose right into the thick of it with a dirty Rhodes piano melody keeping it chugging along all the way to the final round. Here is a release that shows how professional the boys are, by delivering three tunes of absolute pristine class, functionality and undeniable quality control. They have not placed one tune on a pedestal; therefore preserving the integrity of the release. An attitude that keeps Audiojack steadily pushed to the forefront England’s House movement.
