Mobilee, Highgrade, Freak NʼChic or Micro-Fibres. On these labels Marc Antona released already more than ten EPs until he established his own label 'Dissonant' in 2010.  After a series of EPs, of which the last already featured track that appear on the album, Marc Antona's debut album 'Rules of Madness' finally queues into the Dissonant catalogue. His aim is "creating musical trips … and making enjoy the changes of moods: from happiness to melancholy, from energy-pumping moments to relaxing deep waves." Ten tracks that were produced in Ibiza form "sexy underground music". The location contains"so much contrast between the peaceful nature and the amazing clubbing scene, with so much energy that ideas are plentiful when it's time to make music”, as Marc said which he suceed to knitt into his album through energetic grooves, organic hand claps, fieldrecordings and slow ambient sounds . Minimalistic groovy sound arrangements crosses the whole album. The openener 'Guru', a slow, snapping track with nice voice samples and glimmering bells. Also 'Home Rebels' offers shimmering, metallic sound beneath an Iberian melody.'Fasttrack' is -as the title says- in contrast more powerful and filled with vast energy- A track to overwhelm the clubbing scene. 'The Hammock Spider Story' is a humorous track filled with a story telling samples. All in all, the titles imply somekind of insurgence ('Home Rebels', 'All Against The Law', 'Last Taboo') as the melodies and grooves firmly rough up the dancefloor. A lot of hidden melodies, a 'multi-experience journey, as a musical story that twists and turns and can be listened to and felt from beginning to end.' (Julia)
