“The Collective“ compilation contains all the important Octave One tracks from 1990 – 1996. It includes “I Believe”, one of the soulful rave classics taken from the Transmat catalogue and originally released in 1990. Additionally you’ll find “Empower” the track taken from the Foundation EP, originally released in 1995 and selected by Richie Hawtin for his hard to find  Mixmag Live! On Moonshine Music in 1995. Furthermore the pearls “Dema”, taken from the super 2x12 “The “X” Files”, and “Eniac”, taken from the Various Artists “Detroit Techno City II”, were hard to find pieces of classic minimal Detroit Techno, somewhere between Robert Hood, Maurizio and DBX. Finally your attention will fall to “Siege”, taken from “Conquered Nation”. This is the prime time dance track, selected by Kevin Saunderson for his famous contribution to the X-Mix series. This is highly recommended minimal techno history. (Hendrik)
