Alison Marks grew up in a small town in the middle of England. As a child she studied dance and piano. She longed to escape and spent her weekends traveling as far as necessary to various clubs and free parties around the country. She moved to Manchester in 1993 to study psychology, bought decks with her student loan and practiced a lot. In 1996 Alison won Muzik magazines‘ „bedroom bedlam“ - a mix tape competition (also won by James Zabiela and Will Saul). She began hosting a show on pirate radio -frequency fm. When she finished university, she moved to london and started working in record distribution. In 1998 not content with merely playing records she bought an atari and drum machine. A year later she started a sound engineering course. In 1999 Alison became involved in the running of The Laundry party a once infamous london underground party collective. She played all over the UK (Plastic People, Robodisco, The End, Fabric, Wiggle, The Cross, Turnmills etc) and also began to play internationally... In 2001 Alison began hosting a monthly show on Groovetech radio. In 2002 she was offered the chance to host her own weekly night every friday at Propaganda club in Moscow. It was always her favourite place to play and since she fell in love with a Russian at the same time she accepted the offer and moved to Russia... She began playing with Seratos‘ Scratch Live -fed up with back ache and excess baggage. 2003-2005 She played 8 hours every friday with DJ Onlee at Propaganda where they presented a wide range of electronic dance music from downtempo, minimal, deep tech and electro tinged house to melodic techno and often some songs at the end. Pure indulgence. The night developed into a monster... It was meant to last a few months but lasted 2 years...
