Welcome to vitalik recordings. You can find us in the spectral audio space somewhere between London and Ibiza. Vitalik Recordings is a home for music that endeavours to be different. We focus on young up-and-coming artists and team them up with the most creative and highly respected producers in our persuasion. With vitalik recordings aim to create our identity with the standard we set rather than a defined sound.
Vitalik is a name you are more likely to assosiate with illeagal free parties hidden in the campo of Ibiza or in huge sea caves along the coast of the island, the name was synonomous with varoius forms of underground resistance and clandestine parties over the years. Vitalik even flirted with the superclubs for a time culminating in massive Sunday morning carry on at Space that kick started We Love.. proceedings each week. These parties along with the free parties they held became untenable in 2008 when all after hours were banned in Ibiza and the authorities took a militant stance on any party not happening within the walls of a superclub
Music was the driving force behind vitalik so when their parties became unsustainable another outlet for their music became essential. From this came vitalik recordings - step in label co-founder Henry Rumor. Henry’s work in the the field of quantom physics and the relationship between neuroscience and sound waves drew him ethos of vitalik – vitalik being derived from the word vital - “describing the animating principle of living beings”.
A chance meeting between Henry, Ryan O Gorman and Australian mystic hairdresser Adrian Nicholson (aka j u g) at a sonic hypnosis (NMP - neuro musical programming) workshop in Reykjavík sparked a conversation about vital chords and the relationship between music science and the mind. A month later the Bubble Boy EP was born, a collaboration between j u g, Mark Henning and Agnes. The Bubble Boy EP was the child of chance - vit 001
Vitalik also operate the Sonic Workshop in St Agusti, Ibiza where ongoing researh and development is culminating into the creation of their sonopod , a machine that stimulates peptides sonically in the brain enducing altered physical and mental states.
